Directed by Dr. Yao Lin, Grace School of Music unites dedicated and experienced teachers to offer personalized music lessons both in-person, virtually, and in-home. Our mission is to inspire, educate, and elevate. We provide piano, string, voice, and woodwind lessons to students of all ages in the metropolitan Washington DC area, including Germantown, Gaithersburg, Boyds, Clarksburg, Potomac and Rockville in Maryland.

Piano Lessons For All Level

01.

Beginner

Duration: 30 minutes per lesson

Content: Basic keys and notes; Simple melodies and rhythms; Fun musical games

Goals: Develop rhythm and musicality; Foster a love for music; Build foundational skills

02.

Intermediate

Duration: 45 minutes per lesson

Content: Advanced note reading; Scales and arpeggios; Simplified classical pieces

Goals: Enhance technical skills; Prepare for competitions; Begin exam preparation

03.

Advanced

Duration: 60 minutes per lesson

Content: Complex pieces; In-depth music theory; Performance techniques

Goals: Achieve high proficiency; Compete in major competitions; Prepare for advanced exams

Yao Lin is an active teacher, classical pianist, concert artist, accompanist, and church pianist in the metropolitan DC area. She received both her bachelor's and master's degrees from Odessa National Conservatory of Music in Ukraine and a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) degree from the University of Maryland (UMD). Lin has won many international awards and is currently a member of the National Music Teachers Association. With extensive training in piano pedagogy and over 20 years of professional teaching experience, she provides quality piano instruction to students of all levels, backgrounds, and ages in English, Chinese, and Russian.
